Florida Wind Band

Sunday, May 7, 2017 - A Program of Movie Soundtracks

Movie soundtracks are often in the background when the visual action becomes intense, yet it is the soundtrack that creates much of the feeling of that intensity. The Florida Wind Band pays homage to this important genre of music with a program of selections based upon some of the most well-known soundtracks from the past few decades. Just as operas have provided some of what is now considered great art music, perhaps time will allow the same thing to happen for movie soundtracks.

One principal sponsorship is available for this concert. The cost is $6,000.00. For that contribution, the name sponsor will receive the highest level of recognition available for the concert. They will also be given eight complimentary tickets that will be assigned to special reserved seating. Other levels of sponsorship and patronage are accessible through various levels of contributions as listed below. Your support of the arts in general, and the professional wind band specifically, will be deeply appreciated and recognized in all of our concert programs for the season.

Over the past eight seasons, the Florida Wind Band has been consistent in presenting a concert that honors our servicemen, servicewomen and our country. This year’s presentation is entitled Honor, Integrity and Service.  To fulfill the meaning behind those words, the program will contain several songs that will be well-known to the audience, along with other music written with clear patriotic intention. We would especially like to see veterans in the audience because we are going to play a special tribute for you.
